The VDYDN Vore chatroom is currently an IRC based affair. IRC actually has it's fair share of advantages, mostly in the area of privacy and stability. Webserver went down? Not a problem, the chat isn't tethered to it. (Unless the DNS server takes a hike, but hey, that's what IP addresses are for.) Also, you want a private chat with a couple of people? Simply join a room with no one in it (Which there are technically an unlimited amount of.)
Currently, there are a couple of ways to connect to the chat.
First (And easiest), you can simply go through the Java applet we have available on this site.
Secondly, you can choose to connect to the network via any IRC client. Most IRC clients will allow you to simply click on the link below and will connect automatically. For the rest (Or if you want to connect manually) the server info is a little further below.
For more detailed information, consult the technical documents that came with your program of choice.
Many popular programs will connect to an IRC network. Some of these programs include Trillian, gAIM, and Pidgin. Connecting to IRC with any of these is pretty similar; you usually just go to "Add Account", select "IRC" and enter these para maters plus your username:
Some other popular IRC clients include mIRC (And the NNScript offshoot) and XChat 2 For Windows (Or XChat Aqua for Mac users and XChat for Linux). There is even an IRC add-on for Firefox!
